my next trip | Patagonia in Chile

Patagonia is my destination next month. I've never been to Chile — in fact, I've never before visited South America — so I'm very much looking forward to this trip.

I am nurtured by visiting places resplendent with natural beauty, and previous trips to the south island of New Zealand and to Norway are some of my fondest memories. I'm not sure what to expect with Patagonia in Chile, but the images in the You Tube video embedded above are certainly inviting! I leave for Santiago on March 9, connecting through Atlanta. The itinerary includes a night at the Ritz-Carlton Santiago, three nights at The Cliffs Preserve in Puerto Montt, three nights at the newly opened Singular Patagonia in Puerto Bories, and a final night at the W Hotel in Santiago before flying back to the U.S.

Chile is in the same time zone as the eastern U.S., and with 9 hour overnight flights in both directions, jet lag should not be an issue. I've never experienced Delta's international business class, but this should be a good test.

I hope to post pictures and blog about my experiences from Chile, so follow this space!
