hiking in Patagonia | beware of strong winds!

The first thing you need to know about hiking in Patagonia is that it's windy, especially in the summer. This sign was posted in the Torres del Paine National Park, and the warning needs to be taken literally. We hiked in what seemed like hurricane force winds. If you've never experienced being blown up a hill, it's quite an experience.

Notice the snow being blown off the mountain peaks … and the white caps on this mountain lake.

Patagonia is beautiful, rugged, and well worth the visit.
