Four Seasons Austin | better value than the Westin

Four Seasons Austin is a better value than the Westin

A recent article in the New York Times travel section discussed three myths about booking travel from the source. The writer, Stephanie Rosenbloom, asked, "should travelers assume that the best deals always come from online — even offline — travel agencies?" She concludes that booking direct can often be best.

Ms. Rosenbloom concludes with this example of a mock booking in Austin, TX. She compares the slightly lower rate at the Westin Austin (found on travelocity) with a stay at the Four Seasons Austin (booked through fourseasons.com):
For instance, a recent search on Travelocity.com for a traditional room with a king bed at the Westin Austin at The Domain on a Saturday night in October pulled up a rate of $292.94 (including taxes). That special advance purchase rate was nonrefundable and could not be changed or canceled. For about $16 more, Fourseasons.com had the same room on the same night for a "flexible rate" of $309.35. No deposit was required, and there was no penalty for changes or cancellations until the day of check-in.
Peace of mind for $16? If I had a spare $293.35 to spend on a hotel room, I'd book it.
If you're one of my clients, or a regular reader of my blog, you would know instantly that there is a much better deal of which the writer was unaware. Clients of Four Seasons Preferred Partner travel consultants get the best value of all. Same price, same terms, plus the Four Seasons Preferred Partner amenities:
  • Daily full American breakfast for two people per bedroom, served through In-Room Dining or in the hotel restaurant (including buffets)
  • Food and beverage credit of USD100
  • Upgrade of one category, based on availability at time of check-in (excluding signature suites and villas)
In addition to being a true luxury hotel, the Four Seasons Austin offers superior value than the Westin when you take advantage of the Four Seasons Preferred Partner program!
