FS Hualalai | the ultimate Hawaiian resort

sepia tone print — the beach at FS Hualalai
Four Seasons Hualalai, on the Big Island of Hawai'i, is my favorite resort in Hawaii — and perhaps in the entire world. Located on a half-mile stretch of white sand beach, FS Hualalai offers everything everything you could possibly want for a vacation this winter to Hawaii.

Relaxed, spacious, and luxurious, all guest rooms are in low-rise two-story buildings located around four crescents (each with its own pool) or by the 18th green of the golf course. With six swimming pools, snorkeling pond stocked with tropical fish, spa for pampering, Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, and three restaurants, Four Seasons Hualalai is the perfect destination resort for families or romantic couples.

For a romantic couples getaway, I recommend the Palm Grove crescent. Secluded at the southern end of the resort with an adults-only pool with swim-up bar, step out of your ground floor Ocean View room (with its outdoor lava-rock shower) directly onto a green lawn shaded with palm trees. For the best view, choose a second floor Ocean View Prime accommodation.

For a family vacation, the Sea Shell crescent offers the resort's kid's pool. All kids can enjoy the full-day complimentary Kids for All Seasons program. Don't forget that kids under 5 eat free, and there's no resort fee or charge for self-parking.
