inedible glutinous broccoli breakfast something

inedible glutinous broccoli breakfast something on UA

I've had this once before, this inedible glutinous broccoli breakfast something on a United morning flight. Took one bite of whatever this was supposed to be last Thursday morning, as I sat in First on my SFO-EWR breakfast flight, and left the rest... Not a complete waste, though, as it gives me something to blog about.

United, how about retiring this menu item? The swiss cheese omelette was fine, the roasted potatoes OK, and it's not possible to ruin yogurt and fruit. But no more of this breakfast thingy, please!

It is possible to serve good meals on an airplane. In fact, my return EWR-SFO flight on Saturday offered a fabulous lunch. Of course, it was on a Continental flight (they still run two distinct airlines within the new United). The lunch was served in three courses, and I enjoyed all three — especially the hot fudge sundae for dessert! Here were the lunch entree options; I chose the Spice-rubbed Breast of Chicken... moist, flavorful, and even healthy!
