Where was the photographer standing when this photograph was taken? She or he was evidently up in the dome of the Ritz London, looking down toward the rotunda. The hotel's staff was arranged on both levels of the central staircase, as well as the ground floor. A most interesting viewpoint on one of the celebrated hotels of London.
Designed by Cesar Ritz, the renowned hotelier of a former century, the Ritz London has a great location right on Picadilly, adjacent to Green Park. I spent a couple of nights at the Ritz several years ago in a Junior Suite and especially enjoyed the hotel's convenient location, ideal for walking to lots of places of interest.
