a great restaurant "find" on the Big Island

Looking to get away from your resort to enjoy something of the local culture? Want a "hole in the wall" local restaurant on the Big Island where locals in-the-know go to eat? We enjoyed a superb meal at Kawaihae Harbor Grill, located in Kawaihae Harbor, HI. The fish was incredibly fresh. I ordered charcoal-grilled Mahi Mahi, and the dish was absolutely perfect. Show up before 6:30 p.m., and you'll get "early bird pricing," 30% off the price of everything but lobster and beverages.

Hawaihae Harbor Grill is open for breakfast (7 a.m. - 11 a.m.), lunch (11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.), and dinner (5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.) daily. Call 808-882-1368 for reservations.
