So why did I put this terminal map at the top of a blog post? Simple: so I can have easy access to it when I arrive in Paris at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday morning.
My trip to Scotland begins Tuesday afternoon when I board Air France's A380 double-decker jet from SFO to CDG, from where I connect to another Air France flight to Edinburgh. We actually have a 4 hour layover in Paris, which isn't bad news in this case. Charles de Gaulle can be a difficult airport in which to make connections. The signage can be difficult, and the terminals are not exactly filled with smiling Air France agents proactively offering assistance to confused and jet-lagged travelers [irony intended].
With four hours to spend and business class tickets that we scored with Delta SkyMiles (thanks PointsPros), we'll have a chance to enjoy some time in a lounge. Our goals:
(1) take hot showers
(2) possibly get a spa treatment
(3) enjoy a hot lunch
(4) recharge our portable electronic devices
I obsess over logistics, which probably means I'm in the right profession (travel consultant), so I've already researched the pertinent information for our connection — thanks to the FlyerTalk community for their assistance.
(1) Our arriving flight will arrive in Hall L or M.
(2) Our departing flight will depart from Hall K or Hall L.
(3) There is an Air France Lounge in each hall, and each has showers.
(4) Only Hall K and Hall M lounges offer hot food.
I've displayed all of this information graphically in the image above, and I'll have the top page of my blog open in Safari on my iPad before I leave San Francisco. When I get to Paris, I'll have this clear, full-color graphic readily available.
