Setai Fifth Avenue | NY luxury hotel

The Setai Fifth Avenue is a New York luxury hotel – and a member of Virtuoso. I had an opportunity to do a site inspection this morning and was impressed with the hotel. Located on Fifth Avenue between 36th and 37th Streets, the Setai Fifth Avenue has a convenient midtown location. Literally just a block from the Empire State Building (see the two buildings in the picture at the left), this is an especially convenient location if you're in New York and have business near Rockefeller Center

The hotel features cool, comfortable, and contemporary styling with hardwood paneling and a color scheme of greys and beiges. Guestrooms are large and feature luxurious Duxiana beds. We were first shown a Superior room; at 500 sq ft, it felt generously proportioned for a Superior. The bathroom had a tub/shower combination. Most upscale guests will opt for a Deluxe (600 sq ft with separate step-in shower) or a Capella King (a very large Junior Suite at 800 sq ft with separate showers and dual vanities.

Long-term guests will appreciate the suites, all of which feature a fully functional kitchen, as well as a washer and dryer. The Empire State Suite looks directly south at the Empire State Building, but the real WOW accommodation is the City View Suite. Even larger with a corner locations, these suites are bright and beautiful. Book through a Virtuoso travel consultant to receive value-added amenities including complimentary daily breakfast for two.

Next year, Capella will cease management of the Setai, and it will become the Langham Place.
