Post Ranch Inn | WOW resort in Big Sur

Sarah has returned from her site inspection trip to Post Ranch Inn, an absolutely wonderful resort in Big Sur, on the California coast about 2 1/2 hours south of San Francisco. Here are a couple of pictures and some highlights of her stay at the beginning of December.

From the moment that guests arrive on property, everything is taken care of. Your car is parked, and you are driven to your accommodations in Post Ranch Inn's Lexus SUV. The same vehicles are used for the complimentary shuttle service, within a reasonable radius, if you wish to dine off-property.

The Lower Coast room is an exquisitely designed space with floor-to-ceiling glass that showcases the breathtaking ocean scene spread before you. The room is decorated with redwood and walnut walls, ceilings, and furnishings, as well as stone, tile, and steel, with a wood burning fireplace match-ready to enjoy. The bathroom features a tile and slate Jacuzzi bath/shower with ocean view (large enough for two), and the minibar is filled with complimentary beverages and food items, replenished daily. The Upper Coast room is even more spectacular, but for a real WOW, Sarah recommends one of the stand-alone Pacific Houses or Ocean Houses, if these work with your budget.
Sitting on our deck and soaking in the afternoon was a sensual experience. And it was equally enchanting at night with a star-filled sky above, a moon-reflecting ocean below, with gentle music playing while the fireplace crackled nearby.

This place is special, unique, the best, Sarah tells me, a great alternative to the wine country for Bay Area residents. For visitors planning to drive the California coast, Post Ranch Inn would be a WOW place to stay for a night or two along your way. Post Ranch Inn is a member of Virtuoso, with value-added Virtuoso amenities offered exclusively through your Virtuoso travel consultant.
